Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) Program
Individuals with relevant work experience and skills may be eligible to apply for the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) program. Typically, candidates apply through the Express Entry system, which is the online portal used to manage FSW applications. This program is designed for skilled workers with significant overseas experience who wish to settle in Canada permanently.
The FSW program identifies skills and labor shortages that are difficult to fill locally, encouraging skilled individuals to invest and contribute to local economies across various provinces. Canada recognizes over 300 eligible occupations that meet the criteria for the Skilled Worker Program. The process involves submitting an application to the Express Entry pool, where profiles are reviewed. Candidates with the highest rankings are invited to apply for permanent residency (PR).
Applicants in the Express Entry pool are evaluated based on six factors, with a minimum of 67 points out of 100 required for eligibility.
